Mountaineering Instruction Courses

In summer, join Aspiring Guides for remote multi-day trekking in the World Heritage listed Mt Aspiring National Park. Experience New Zealand's hardest guided hiking trips, the 8 day Gillespie-Rabbit Pass Traverse and Glacier Hiking on our highest glaciated regions, or an introductory wilderness walking and camping holiday suitable for the whole family. Aspiring Guides takes care of all the logistics so you can concentrate on the walk and enjoying the breathtaking scenery. In winter we provide multi-day tours hiking with snowshoes. Small groups, light backpacks, engaging & knowledgeable trekking guides are our specialty.

Our high guiding team are all qualified through the New Zealand Mountain Guides Association - an affiliate of the International Federation of Mountain Guide Associations (IFMGA), the professional body governing mountain guiding worldwide.
Best Location. With our base in Wanaka, 1 hours drive from the Queenstown International Airport we are at the gateway to the Mt Aspiring National Park for remote wilderness trekking. In winter, Wanaka is widely regarded as New Zealand's best winter ski & snowboarding destination. For mountaineering we are not locked into just one climbing region. We have the Westland, Mt Cook, Mt Aspiring, Remarkables & Fiordland National Parks all easily accessible by ground transport from our Wanaka base. When weather or mountain conditions are unfavourable, our clients benefit from the vast range of climbing region options we have available to us.
