Curious about venturing beyond ski area boundaries? Want to be sure you are safe and learn some skills that will make you safe in the backcountry? This guided trip in predominantly intermediate-level terrain is the one for you.
This trip provides a relaxed introduction to the basics of snowboard, telemark, alpine or nordic ski touring. And, if you'd like to stick to snowshoes, you're most welcome too... It's all about experiencing the backcountry buzz the way you want to.
Cruise across rolling hills through untouched beauty and serenity of winter in the South Island high country. Settle in for the night in the comfortable Kirtle Burn hut. Wake in a snow-covered wonderland. Day tour with day packs and, if you're lucky, ski some recent powder.
We'd love to introduce to the joys of backcountry NZ ski touring. Check out the tour details and contact us if you have any questions.
