Hot December news

Hello there ! We thought we could tempt you along for a sensational adventure with us in the New Year. Here's some of what's on offer ...

 Five Passes Trek

This 7 day wilderness trek in the Mount Aspiring and Fiordland National Parks will take you to remote areas over five passes. It involves navigation challenges and is a true wilderness experience. Fantastic views in an alpine environment. Prerequisites are good fitness and stamina. Previous trekking experience essential. You will need to carry your own gear and some food. Tent and rock bivouac camping options only. Guide-client ratio 2:6 maximum. First trek Jan 29-Feb 4, 2005. Second trek March 11-17, 2005. Read more.

 Bonar Glacier trek

Join us for a two day breathtaking glacier trek. We fly into Bevan Col and walk across the Bonar glacier (gateway to Mount Aspiring 3027m). Before descending down the `Quarterdeck' at the edge of Gloomy Gorge we venture off track for an hour to climb Mount French. The ‘Quarterdeck’ is a reminder of the awesome configuration carved by the ice age. The glacier gives way to open ridge tops and tussock fields leading us to French Ridge hut where we spend the night. We descend down the ridge line and along a steep track through the beech forest and out along the river flats. Guide-client ratio 1:4 maximum. Read more.

Mount Aspiring ascent

Climb to the summit of Mount Aspiring (3027m) - the highest peak in NZ outside of Mount Cook National Park. We spend 5 days on this ascent. Mountaineering experience not essential - a high level of fitness is required. Guide-client ratio 1:2 maximum. Most equipment supplied. Great package. Read more.
