Overview Courses Ascents FAQ

"After many thank you's we have bestowed upon you, I again just want to say on behalf of the group how much we totally enjoyed the trip to Tasman. Each and every guide was a pro from beginning to end. We as a group could not have asked for more. Each and every person achieved their goal. That in itself speaks volumes for Aspiring Guides. We have all been to the Himalaya many times and also to NZ. Aspiring Guides head by Marty Beare over-shadows any previous Guided Trip we have been on. I wish you great success with your future - John Bentley, Feb 2008.

Peter Briggs:
"Good overall impression. Small company/team focussed on achieving outcomes for the customer."

Andrew Borrell, Nov 08
What was your favourite part of the course? Climbing mountains! I loved the summit ridge of Mt Joffre and our attempt of Mt French (didn't summit due to white-out conditions and strong winds). Descent of the Quarterdeck was pretty amazing. I really enjoyed learning the knots, setting up ropes for 'glacier travel', learning belays. The teamwork was great - we had a great team with a lot of trust among team members.

"It's an awesome opportunity to learn the best techniques from scratch, and through personal experience (which is always the best way to learn), in the safest possible way. You get guidance from experienced, down-to-earth, friendly folk. You have the opportunity to meet cool people - work as a team, and yet operate independently within that group - you have some responsibility for yourself and others, and you can also learn/practice many things privately. The group/guides can make decisions and discuss things as they go - not rigidly organised (so if you're not normally one for organised tour groupie things, and a bit worried about doing a course - not to worry with this one!) It was all tops! Cheers!"
