Wild Walks Progression
A common query is how our Wild Walks compare in terms of difficulty. It is not completely clear cut but this chart gives an indication on how they compare.
This is only a rough guide as difficulty takes into account a number of factors including distance covered, elevation gain, terrain underfoot, length of days (difficult terrain can be time consuming and tiring even though not much distance is covered), how much equipment must be carried, hut versus camping etc. For the snow and glacier trips, the additional technical skills that are required. Weather conditions at the time can also make it more difficult.
Even our easier Wild Walks are in a different league to the Great Walks so some experience hiking off formed tracks on rough and uneven ground and on multi-day hikes is beneficial.
